01Overview

Optism brings together expert resources, conversations, community sections and marketplace-oriented experiences on a Drupal and Next.js stack.

02Challenge

Editorial publishing, expert resources and community surfaces meant many structured content types — the frontend had to stay consistent without making Drupal-side changes expensive.

03My role

With the Rush Hour Digital team I worked on coordinated Drupal and Next.js changes: content models, reusable React and TypeScript components, and live feature maintenance across product surfaces.

04Architecture

  1. L1

    Drupal CMS + API content

  2. L2

    React + TypeScript component layer

  3. L3

    Next.js application shell

  4. L4

Editorial · resource · community workflows

05Key challenges

  1. 01Balancing editorial flexibility with a consistent frontend across many content surfaces.
  2. 02Keeping behaviour stable across live sections, shared components and ongoing releases.
  3. 03Extending a headless platform without fragmenting the UI into one-off implementations.

06Decisions

  1. 01Headless Drupal and Next.js to separate content operations from frontend delivery.
  2. 02Shared work kept inside reusable React and TypeScript patterns.
  3. 03Structured content and reusable components over page-specific builds.

07Result

The platform grew across community, resource and marketplace sections while frontend work stayed reusable and easier to maintain.
